The FB11 Cable Fault Tester is for the rapid location and analysis of faults in power cables up to 35 kV. This kit combines four units: a Distance Measuring Host, a Path & Identification Detector, a Pinpointing Locator, and a High-Voltage Signal Generator. It employs advanced Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), electromagnetic induction, and acoustic-magnetic synchronization technologies to accurately detect open circuits, short circuits, high-resistance leaks, and flashover faults. It works well with underground or buried cable faults.
Product Features
✅ All-in-One Integrated System for Complete Fault Diagnosis
It integrates distance measurement, path tracing and depth finding, intelligent cable identification, and fault pinpointing into one coordinated workflow. Field technicians can carry a single kit to handle every step of the fault-finding process.
✅ High-Accuracy Measurement with Automatic Waveform Comparison
Featuring a high-speed sampling rate up to 100 MHz and advanced algorithms, the FB11 delivers a distance measurement accuracy of better than 50 cm for faults over 64 km. It can display both the fault waveform and a good-phase reference waveform side-by-side, enabling quick visual analysis and automatic fault distance calculation.
✅ Safety & Robust Design for Demanding Field Use
The system features comprehensive high-voltage protection circuits that prevent damage or lock-ups during impulse flashover testing. Key components, like the HV generator, have automatic open/short circuit protection. The devices are housed in sturdy engineering plastic casings, rated for operation from -30°C to +50°C and up to 90% humidity. With built-in rechargeable batteries, technicians can work in remote or challenging environments.
✅ User-Friendly Operation with Intuitive Interface
Designed for ease of use, the system features a large 8-inch color LCD touchscreen. The path detector uses a combination of digital readouts, bar graphs, and audible tones to guide the operator.
✅ Versatile Application for Diverse Cable & Fault Types
FB11 handles a wide range of cable types (XLPE, PVC, oil-paper) and faults (open, short, high/low resistance) on cables up to 35 kV. The path detector solves tough problems like live cable identification, tracing, and pinpointing metallic "dead" short circuits. It is particularly effective for low-voltage (500 V) direct-buried cables, street lighting lines, and fault location without the need for high-voltage discharge in many cases.
