RM7 supports singlemode, multimode, and live fiber testing across multiple wavelengths (up to four). Whether for core, metro, or access networks, the RM7 ensures reliable, accurate, and efficient testing with long battery life and intuitive operation, making it the ultimate all-in-one solution for field technicians and network engineers.
Product Features:
1. All-in-One High-Precision Testing Platform
The RM7 combines OTDR, OPM, VFL, Laser Distance Meter, and Fiber Inspection into a single device. This eliminates the need to carry multiple instruments, streamlining fieldwork, reducing equipment costs, and increasing testing efficiency for comprehensive fiber network characterization and troubleshooting.
2. Modular & Detachable Accessory Design
The OPM, VFL, and Laser Distance Meter modules are not only integrated but also physically detachable. They can be used independently as handheld tools or docked with the main unit, offering unparalleled flexibility for various testing scenarios and improving work convenience.
4. Exceptional Dynamic Range & Ultra-Short Dead Zone
With a configurable dynamic range up to 50 dB and an industry-leading event dead zone of just 0.6 m, the RM7 can test long-distance fibers while still accurately identifying and measuring faults or events close to the test point.
5. Large Touchscreen & Extended Battery Life
The 10.1-inch high-brightness touchscreen offers excellent visibility even outdoors and enables easy, intuitive operation. Powered by a high-capacity battery, it supports over 15 hours of continuous operation on a single charge, ensuring reliability for full-day field work without needing a power source.
Spec Sheet
Functions:
- Advanced OTDR with Superior Performance
RM7 boasts an impressive dynamic range of up to 50 dB, allowing technicians to characterize very long fiber spans or high-loss links with clear backscatter signals. More crucially, it features an ultra-short event dead zone of 0.6 meters. This means the instrument can accurately locate and measure reflective events (like connectors) and loss events (like splices) that are extremely close to the test source, a critical capability for testing in dense fiber distribution points like central offices or FTTH cabinets. Combined with a fine distance resolution of 0.05 m, it ensures precise fault localization, saving valuable troubleshooting time.
- Modular Detachable Multi-Tool
In addition to the OTDR, the RM7 innovatively integrates three other important tools, offered as detachable modules: an optical power meter (OPM), a visual fault locator (VFL), and a laser rangefinder. These modules can be connected to the main unit or disconnected for handheld operation. Need to measure the power of a remote terminal? Simply remove the OPM module. Need to check fiber optic continuity? Use the VFL module alone. This modular design offers great flexibility, serving as both a complete toolkit and a lightweight, single-task operation, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing the need for additional equipment.
- iOLA for Intelligent PON/FTTx Analysis
The Intelligent Optical Link Analysis (iOLA) is a game-changer for access network technicians. Unlike standard OTDR traces that require expert interpretation, iOLA automatically executes a series of intelligent measurements across the link. It identifies and characterizes each element—connectors, splices, splitters (1xN), and macro-bends—presenting them in a simple, linear "link map." Each element is clearly marked with its distance, loss, and a pass/fail status based on user-defined thresholds. This visual result makes certifying FTTx / PON links faster, easier, and less error-prone.
- Robust Connectivity & Data Management
The RM7 is built for modern workflow integration. It offers extensive connectivity options: dual USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and even cellular data (with SIM card). This allows for easy data transfer, network printing, or remote support. With 16 GB of internal storage and support for external USB/TF cards, it can hold thousands of test results. The device supports industry-standard file formats (.sor, .tor) and can directly generate and export comprehensive test reports in PDF, PNG, or CSV formats on the spot, streamlining documentation and reporting processes.
