The TG96 is a multi-standard RF signal generator designed for reliable signal generation across a wide frequency range from 9 kHz to 6 GHz. It is intended for R&D, production, and maintenance applications in communications, radar, and general electronics testing.
Combining broad frequency coverage with a compact, portable design, the TG96 is suitable for both laboratory and field use, providing a flexible signal source for system development, verification, and integration.
Product Features
✅Wide Frequency Coverage & Power Level Accuracy
The TG96 RF signal generator operates over a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6 GHz, supporting applications such as wireless communication testing, satellite systems, and radar-related measurements. It provides an output power range from –120 dBm to +10 dBm with a typical level accuracy of ±1 dB, enabling repeatable signal generation for measurement, calibration, and verification tasks.
✅Analog Modulation and Pulse Signal Support
The TG96 supports AM, FM, ΦM, and pulse modulation, with modulation rates up to 1 MHz. When combined with its linear frequency modulation capability, the generator can be used to produce radar-like waveforms and other time-varying RF signals for system-level testing in defense, aerospace, and advanced communication applications.
✅Digital Modulation & Internal Low-Frequency Source
Standard digital modulation formats including ASK, FSK, and PSK are supported. In addition, the TG96 includes an internal low-frequency signal source capable of generating sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms, allowing baseband and modulation testing without the need for external signal generators.
✅RF Up-Conversion Capability
The TG96 can operate as an RF up-converter by accepting an external IF input at 200 MHz ±10 MHz and converting it to RF output frequencies from 301 MHz to 6 GHz. This function supports integration with external signal sources and enables testing of software-defined radio (SDR) and frequency-agile systems.
✅Remote Control & Interface Support
The generator is equipped with LAN and USB interfaces for remote control and data transfer. It supports SCPI commands and provides API documentation, enabling integration into automated test setups and custom control software.
✅Amplitude and frequency sweep functions support step and list sweeps with up to 65,535 points. Automatic, external, and manual trigger modes adapt to diverse test scenarios.
